Summer Of Untrieds Day 28: Shimmer - SuperChic Lacquer Hot Springs Dipping Hole & Indigo Bananas Electric Unicorns featuring Neverland Lacquers Nail Stencils

Disclaimer:  These nail stencils were offered at no charge to thelazylaquerista.com in exchange for published reviews.  All reviews are fair, honest and reflect my personal opinion.

Hello readers,
Today I have another mani trying out some nail stencils from Neverland Lacquers.  I combined it with my shimmer polishes for day 28 of the summer of untrieds polish to get a nice wavy accent nail.

Hot Springs Dipping Hole features a sky blue base with tons of blue shimmer and pink microflakes.  The formula was easy to apply and took three coats to become opaque.  It does dry somewhat matte so you'll need a top coat if you want a glossy finish.  I then used the Neverland Lacquers wave stencils to add stripes of Electric Unicorn which has a medium purple base packed with green shimmery microflakes.  Finally, I used my silver nail art striper to add thin waves in between the stenciled waves.  Everything was then topped off with one coat of HK Girl.  Photos show the above mani in natural lighting.

I love the flecked finish of both these polishes but the pink shimmer in Hot Springs Dipping Hole was very difficult to capture on camera.  I'm also really happy with how the wave design turned out.  Now that I'm getting the hang of the nail stencils they're becoming quite easy to use.  The key is the get the accent polish on fast and then pull off the stencils while the accent polish is still completely wet.

Happy polishing,

Michelle

Summer Of Untrieds Days 26 & 27: Grey & Matte - Starry Earth We Don't Need Roads & Julep Matte Top Coat

Hello readers,
Today I have a glittery grey polish both glossy and matte to show you.

We Don't Need Roads has a pale grey crelly base filled with tiny square silver glitters and a mix of black and silver hex glitters.  The formula was fairly easy to work with.  I did need to do a little dabbing to get a good distribution of the larger hex glitter.  It took two coats to become opaque.  Because of the glitter it did dry a little bit unevenly so I just used a thicker top coat to smooth everything out.  Photos show two coats of We Don't Need Roads with one coat of Seche Vite in natural lighting.

I didn't have any matte polishes that I hadn't tried for Day 27 so I just decided to matte up the polish I was already wearing.  Photos show the above mani with added coat of Julep Matte top coat in natural lighting.

The matte version definitely reminds me of pavement.

Happy polishing,

Michelle

Loreal Pop The Bubbles Swatches & Review

Hello readers,
Today I have a shimmery textured polish to show you , Loreal Pop The Bubbles.

Pop The Bubbles is a steely blue texture with small silver glitters sprinkled throughout.  The formula was great.  I used two coats to get full coverage.  The wear time on this was really good too.  I didn't have any chips after several day.  Unlike most glitter polishes this one removed quite easily as well.  Photos show two coats of Pop The Bubbles in natural lighting.

Summer Of Untrieds Day 25: Zoya - Payton & Carly

Hello readers,
Today's summer of untrieds them features my favorite mainstream polish brand, Zoya.  Despite them being my favorite I still have several that haven't made it onto my fingertips yet.  I chose two of those for a sparkly stamped mani.

Carly is a dark plum purple flecked foil finish.  It turned out to be excellent for stamping which is not always the case for foil polishes.  Payton is a dark purple jelly featuring lots of holographic microglitter.  It's like Aurora's darker vampier sister.  The formula on Payton was fantastic.  I used two coats to reach opacity which is awesome for a jelly based polish.  It also dried completely smoothly.  Photos show two coats of Payton stamped with Carly using Pueen plate 65 with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

I love how this turned out.  Stamping doesn't have to be in your face to look great.  It reminds me of brocade fabric.  I'll have to try stamping Carly over other contrasting colours too.

Happy polishing,

Michelle

Summer Of Untrieds Day 24: Holo - Mentality Gumdrop

Hello readers,
Today I a beautiful holo polish from Mentality to show you.  I've been dying to try this brand for a long time since they have a great selection and low prices.  When Harlow&Co started stocking them I was finally able to get my hands on some.

Gumdrop is a bright blue shimmery scatter holo.  The formula was fantastic and it only took two coats to become opaque.  I have a feeling this is a good candidate for stamping as well.  It dried to a satiny matte finish so you will need a top coat if high gloss is what you're after.  Photos show two coats of Gumdrop with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

I'm really liking this polish and the low price tag is definitely a bonus.  I have a few more Mentality polishes in my collection and I'm going to have to try them asap.

Happy polishing,

Michelle

Summer Of Untrieds Days 21, 22 & 23: Girly Bits, Green & Micro Glitter - Girly Bits Get Weaponized, Darling Diva Polish Eat Your Veggies and Enchanted Polish Seven Nation Army

Hello readers,
In my attempts to get caught up on the summer of untrieds challenge I combined three days worth of themes into one mani.  I also realized that I skipped ahead and did a teal mani on the 18th when the theme was actually green.  I must have been really excited about teal, haha.  So, for day 22, which is actually when I was supposed to do a teal polish I did a green one instead.

I used Get Weaponized and Eat Your Veggies for a soft gradient from teal to green.  I then added on coat of Seven Nation Army over top for a little extra something.  I had no issues with any of the formulas and they were all easy to work with.  Photos show the gradient with one coat of HK Girl top coat in overcast natural lighting.  In direct sunlight all of the polishes have a nice scattered holo shimmer.

I really love how this turned out.  The colour shift in the gradient is really soft and delicate and the glitter on top makes it a little different.

Happy polishing,

Michelle
