LynBDesigns Pliny The Elder Oops Swatches & Review

Note: It turns out I received a batch that had too much holo pigment added.  This caused the polish to be lighter and less purple than intended.  The customer service I received after raising the potential issue was wonderful and I will definitely shop at this indie shop again.

Hello readers,
Today I have a polish from LynBDesigns to show you.  Pliny The Elder is part of the They Say of the Acropolis collection.

Pliny The Elder features a purple base with a very strong linear holo and small copper glitters.  The formula was good.  It took three coats to become opaque but dried with a very slight roughness.  I think a thicker top coat would smooth it out completely.  Photos show three coats of Pliny The Elder with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

I have to admit that his polish wasn't quite what I expected.  The swatches I found online before buying it showed a vibrant plum holo base with small copper/orange glitters.  The polish I received was lighter.  In shade it looks taupe with purple undertones and in direct sunlight it looks a little more purple but not nearly as purple as the swatches online and in the listing.  I contacted the indie maker to inquire about possible fading issues with this bottle/batch and received a quick response.  An oops batch with too much holo pigment had been made.  It should have been removed from inventory but looks like mine slipped through the cracks.  The customer service I received was very good and I am satisfied with the outcome.  You can find LynBDesigns on:

Happy polishing,
- Michelle
