Enchanted Polish Octopus's Garden Swatches & Review

Happy New Years readers! Today marks my first review of 2014.  2014...have to get used to typing that now.  I decided to start the year off with an holo multichrome, Enchanted Polish Octopus's Garden.  I've actually had this one in my collection for about a month and a half but this is the first time I've worn it.  Let me tell you.  This polish has officially got me addicted to multichromes.

Octopus's Garden is a shimmery polish that shifts from blue to purple to coppery orange.  It has a soft scattered holo and applies flawlessly.  In indoor lighting I find it looks more blue but in sunlight purple seems to be the more predominant colour.  I used three coats but you could definitely get away with two.  No issues with streaks, sheerness or smoothness with this one.  I went a little photo crazy since this polish takes on new look with every change in angle and lighting.  Photos show three coats of Octopus's Garden with one coat of CND Super Shiney top coat in natural lighting.

You may have noticed a few small bumps in this polish in the photos.  This is not the EP's fault.  I used an older base coat and I should have know better.  It was starting to get a little bit thicker than I liked and apparently had a some tiny dried up bits in it.  Time for that bottle to go to polish heaven.  Over a proper non-dried out base coat Octopus's Garden will be 100% smooth.  So, do I really have to say anything else? Not really.  The pictures speak for them self.  I've had this polish on for three days now and still catch myself examining the colour shift as I move my nails back and forth.  I'm pretty sure this is how I look to others.

My goal for the new year is to do more nail art so I'm off to play with striping tape for the first time.  I'll have the results of that experiment up tomorrow.  Until then, happy polishing!

  1. This color is so pretty! Too bad I don't think I'll ever own an EP. The restocks for the states are a freaking nightmare. :\

    1. This is perhaps the one time being a Canadian helps with polish. NPC Canadian only EP restocks are still crazy, but you get a few more seconds than the American ones :P..

I also plan on doing a comparison post between similar multichromes in the near future. I have a couple that are close in the bottle. We'll have to see if that translates to the nail.
