Off Topic Tuesday: Ripley's Aquarium Of Canada

Hello readers! I thought it might be fun and switch things up with a post that has nothing (or almost nothing) to do with polish! So today I am happy to present the first ever Off Topic Tuesday! I am the equivalent of a crazy cat lady but for fish. I have three fish tanks at home and think underwater life is just fascinating. When the Ripley's Aquarium Of Canada was announced about a year ago I started counting down the days until it opened. Despite line ups in rainy weather I visited it in person this past weekend.

I don't usually do 'theme' manicures but I couldn't resist sporting some sparkly blue scale nails for the occasion.  For those who are curious, I used Laquerlicious Peacock Tail for the base colour and then stamped the scale design using China Glaze Liquid Leather and the Bundle Monster BM-209 stamping plate.

I am by no means a professional photographer or anything close to it but I did my best to capture some of the amazing creatures on display.  I'm pretty sure if it weren't for the crowds I could have stood in front of the larger tanks for hours.  They were just mesmerizing.  I hope you enjoy this glimpse into an underwater wonder world.

The tunnel that ran through the shark tank was amazing.  They could swim right over top of you.

I got to pet a bamboo shark!

Finally, I was playing around with the colours on some of my jellyfish photos.  The artsy side of me loves how this one turned out.  Almost looks like a vibrant water colour painting.

If you find yourself in the Toronto area I highly recommend visiting this new attraction. I hope it does well because once the crowds die down I could definitely envision myself sitting down in front of the reef tank or jellyfish tank and just enjoying the scenery.

  1. I love fish! We have a local aquarium that is expanding in about a month and I'm DYING waiting for it to reopen! I need my fish fill. :) If you're ever in Monterey, CA, they have an absolutely stunning aquarium that I highly recommend.

    1. I have heard of that one but don't have any plans to visit that corner of the country in the near future. I do however have plans to visit Florida and will be heading over to one of my favorite attraction, the MOTE marine aquarium. I <3 the manatees.
